Tyler Lefley

Tyler Lefley was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK and brings a portfolio of agriculture experience having completed a B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences, an M.Sc. in Plant Sciences through the Global Institute for Food Security and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Saskatchewan assessing agronomic traits and genetic stability in triticale. Tyler is a specialist in a form of plant reproduction called apomixis which has given him international work experience in Germany making him a utility for carrying out molecular genetic experiments. Outside of academia Tyler was the agronomy lead for a precision ag consulting business coaching farmers on agronomic profitability and providing precision agriculture technologies. In addition to consulting, Tyler was the agronomy manager for a 17,000-acre farm which conducted large scale research trials and is a proving ground for emerging precision agriculture technologies in Eastern Saskatchewan. If he’s not in the field or at his desk you will likely come across him at a hockey rink or the local sprint canoe club.
